TAPro Wellness Coaching Model for Change

  TAPro offers a practical, straightforward bridge between the clinical side of wellness, genuine wellness coaching, and makes lifestyle behavioral change more sustainable.

    This coaching model for change is centered on the diverse and impactful professional life journeys of John W. Travis, MD, Michael Arloski, PhD, and James O. Prochaska, PhD. This “trio” creates a new paradigm convergence for our nation’s healthcare transformation.

   The acronym, TAPro represents “T” for Travis, “A” for Arloski, and “Pro” for Prochaska. I believe you really don’t have to reinvent the wheel to help your clients/patients experience transformational change. These three experts in their fields, together, show how lasting change really happens.

This tool brings together three interactive models that illustrate the collaborative synergy between Travis’ Iceberg Model of Health & Disease, Arloski’ Wellness Mapping 360° Coaching Model process, and Prochaska’s classic Six Stages of Change.

     What propels a person to make lasting lifestyle behavioral changes—fear of loss, hope of gain, or maybe a little of both? Do the negatives drive us more than the positives? How many “shoulds” do we need to hear to get moving forward and stay the course?
